I was struggling to find a way to make my eyes look bigger and brighter. As we get older, I swear my eyes keep shrinking…or at least appear as if they are. I didn’t realize you could make your eyelashes look even longer and your eyes bigger with a perm for your eyelashes. That’s what it really is. Way more effective than using an eyelash curler. I want my eyes to look as good as they can out hiking and swimming. To have both the lift and tint done it takes about 1.5 hours and is around $100 depending on where you go. If that was the price for covering up my droopy eyelids, it seemed like a small one to pay.
What happens During the Lash and Lift Process
For those who have never had the experience of a Lash and Lift, let me clue you in the details. First, you’ll lay down and relax while the beautician applies a gel patch to your lower lashes. This is so they don’t get stuck to your upper lashes. Next, an adhesive glue will be applied to glue your eyelashes to the padding. You’ll lie there for about 10-15 minutes waiting for it to set. Oh the price we pay for beauty.
Next is a chemical that takes you back to your hair perming days. Be prepared to dwell on those memories for another 9 minutes or so. That is how long the chemical will stay on your lashes, and, yes, you will feel a burning sensation. Don’t panic, as soon as the Beautician takes it off the burning sensation goes away. Plus, because you’ve already put in your time with the formula on your eyelashes from the lift, the lash tint doesn’t have to sit on your lashes for as long.
The product says it will last 6-8 weeks but I have heard from others that it lasts closer to 8-10 weeks. Which happened with me as well. They recommend not getting your eyelashes wet for the next 24 hours. I walked out with bigger, brighter looking eyes.
