Wine: A No Snob Guide

BOOK REVIEW | WINE: A NO-SNOB GUIDE

Drinking Outside the Box, by Lori Stevens

I bet you can’t guess where the first recorded origins of wine appeared? I know I was surprised…never would have thought of it.

Wine: A No-Snob Guide gives a brief history of wine without boring textbook jargon. I devoured this book in one sitting, next to the pool, with a glass of wine of course!

From wine 101 to different types of varietals and the way wine is made, the author delves into every aspect of our preferred purple beverage (or white, depending on the mood). Factoids pepper the book throughout, such as my light bulb moment…did you know the US names wines by the grapes while Europe names them by the region? Duh…but I never put 2 and 2 together.

This is such a handy book that I recommend it to all novice wine drinkers. It would make a perfect hostess gift…along with a delicious bottle of wine.

Enjoy!
